We've become Dementia Friends

Posted by gowenstevensadmin on Tuesday 17th July 2018

On Tuesday 17th July we were pleased to welcome Sue Martin, Community Relations Manager from a local residential care home, who came to present a talk on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society. The Dementia Friends session was very informative and we are proud to now have 10 new Dementia Friends amongst us.

The Dementia Friends initiative is designed to make communities think about how they relate to people who may have dementia, and to view it in a different way – not necessarily as a problem that needs tackling. Everyone who has dementia is different and should be treated as an individual.

At Gowen & Stevens, we can assist with the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney if you or your loved one has recently received a dementia diagnosis, but still has mental capacity. If your relative has lost capacity, we can assist with Court of Protection applications. Please contact us on 020 8661 8611 and we will be happy to discuss the options with you.
